Snowboarding has
come a long way since the start of boarding in the early 90's, a little like
surfing on snow, its fun to try and fun to learn. The snowboarding program was
added back in 1991 and has grown in leaps and bonds. Blizzards has lessons for
youth, teens and adults each Saturday during the snowboarding season. The
instruction is a combination of technical skill exercises and teaching games
designed to help the youth, teens, and adults develop the physical and mental
skills needed to further their snowboarding skills. The snowboarders will learn
to board on all different terrain from groomed runs, half pipe, train parks,
moguls and steep terrain. The Snowboard program is designed to teach you the
skills to be an All Mountain Rider.
SNOWBOARD YOUTH
(ages 8-12)
This program has been created to meet the demands of our younger snowboarder.
This program allows members to snowboard in a supervised snowboard group outside
of their lesson. During the instruction there is a combination of technical
exercises and teaching games designed to help the youths develop the physical
and mental skills they need to further their skiing ability. Many develop
quickly into accomplished Boarders and all gain self confidence and take pride
in their Boarding achievements. They will also enjoy associating with our
supervisory staff outside of the lesson to develop relationship skills with
other equivalent members. Blizzard lesson are designed to move the members from
beginner, advanced beginner, beginning intermediate, intermediate, to advanced
boarder. We teach to the goal of All Mountain Riding, which is freestyle,
Freeride and Carving. We divided the skill developments into the 7 small steps
needed to become a great boarder.
SNOWBOARDER TEEN
(ages 9 - 17)
This is the original Blizzard Snowboard program. The instruction is a
combination technical exercises and teaching games designed to help teens
develop the physical and mental skills they need to further their skiing ability
and reach the goal of All Mountain Rider. Many develop quickly into accomplished
boarders gaining self confidence and pride in their snowboarding achievements.
Blizzard lesson take them thought from new rider to advance rider. The teens
will learn Dynamic turns, Half Pipe riding, Bumps, Switch Riding, Gates,
Carving, 180's, and Terrain Park riding skills. We teach to the goal of All
Mountain Riding, which is freestyle, Freeride and Carving. We divided the skill
developments into the 7 small steps needed to become a great boarder.
